We are pleased to provide connections to godly counseling through the following people and counseling centers.

Counseling Connections

  • The counseling services are offered to the Harpeth Hills church family, as well as the community at large. While individual therapy is provided for matters such as anxiety or depression, a major focus for the Center is that of “relationships.” This includes preparation for marriage, marital therapy, divorce adjustment, stepfamily adjustment, and parent-child relationships. The Counseling Center is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 615-690-4661. If appointments need to be canceled, clients are encouraged to call 24 hours prior to their scheduled time in order to make the necessary changes. Rates are tiered between $40-$125 per session based on the experience of the counselor you see. Call to set up an appointment and inquire about a counselor and their rates. While the counseling center does not file insurance, clients are free to file their own insurance to assist in paying for counseling. Financial assistance is available to Ethos Church Family Members.

We provide confidential, compassionate, and comprehensive therapy services on a variety of issues in a comfortable and private setting. Therapist interns work under the supervision of licensed marriage and family therapists and Lipscomb University MFT faculty. Clients have the advantage of working with a treatment team as opposed to an individual therapist.

We offer a generous sliding scale fee from $10-$90 per session (based on income and family size) and make every effort not to turn anyone away because of an inability to pay. Located on the edge of Lipscomb University’s campus, on-site parking is available. • At this time, Sonya accepts clients from the Downtown campus only.

From a very young age, I was impacted by the untimely death of numerous family members at the hands of lupus, pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, suicide, and addiction. This has a tremendous influence on my goals and mindset leading to a lifelong pursuit of education and experience within pharmaceutical and biotechnology corporations, a Masters in Business Administration, a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an internship at Cumberland Heights in Nashville, TN, and Certification in Brain Health, Coaching, and Training from Amen University under board certified pediatric, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist Dr. Daniel Amen. I also recently completed a Tiny Habit Certification under Dr. B. J. Fogg, a behavioral researcher and founder of Behavior Design Lab at Stanford University.

Feelings, anxiety, depression, life losses, medical conditions, and other mental health challenges knock us off balance. Together we can find a healthy path and learn to deal with reality in a positive way. The goal is to equip clients with healthy tools to live their best life.

I believe a foundation in brain health, working from a biological, psychological, social, and spiritual perspectives, elevates outcome. I have an eclectic, synergistic approach that incorporates perspectives from, but not limited to, cognitive behavioral, person centered, and polyvagal therapies. • Hi! My name is Laura. I enjoy working with people who are looking for ways to feel their best, either as individuals or as couples. My focus each day is being a resource for hope, healing, and healthy relationships.

I’m excited to bring something new to the Ethos family: “Marriage Planning & More.” It’s a divinely inspired approach to couples counseling that helps couples learn how to have relationships that thrive. It begins with customized pre-engagement or pre-marital counseling, then offers ongoing coaching to help couples as they experience new challenges in their relationship. Coaching helps couples navigate transitions in their marriage & keep their bond strong as they enter the role of parenting. I approach couples counseling this way because I have a deep desire to help marriages succeed. When marriages thrive, it gives children a better opportunity to flourish. It’s wonderful to see couples grow closer together as they gain wisdom and learn important skills.

I also work with individuals who are looking for ways to feel better. My approach to individual counseling helps clients identify the obstacles that are limiting their joy, so they can begin to live in the freedom of emotional wellness.
