Counseling & Share Groups
We believe there are many seasons in life in which Biblical Counseling can play a vital role in the continued growth and maturity of an individual or family. At Ethos Church, we are committed to helping our church family grow deeper in all facets of the Christian journey. We are pleased to provide connections to godly counseling through the following people and counseling centers.
Harpeth Hills Counseling Center
The counseling services are offered to the Harpeth Hills church family, as well as the community at large. While individual therapy is provided for matters such as anxiety or depression, a major focus for the Center is that of “relationships.” This includes preparation for marriage, marital therapy, divorce adjustment, stepfamily adjustment, and parent-child relationships. The Counseling Center is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 615-690-4661. If appointments need to be canceled, clients are encouraged to call 24 hours prior to their scheduled time in order to make the necessary changes. Rates are tiered between $40-$125 per session based on the experience of the counselor you see. Call to set up an appointment and inquire about a counselor and their rates. While the counseling center does not file insurance, clients are free to file their own insurance to assist in paying for counseling. Financial assistance is available to Ethos Church Family Members.
Lipscomb University Family Therapy Center
The Lipscomb Family Therapy Center serves the mental health and relationship care needs of individuals, couples, and families in the Nashville community. We provide confidential, compassionate, and comprehensive therapy services on a variety of issues in a comfortable and private setting. Therapist interns work under the supervision of licensed marriage and family therapists and Lipscomb University MFT faculty. Clients have the advantage of working with a treatment team as opposed to an individual therapist.
We offer a generous sliding scale fee from $10-$90 per session (based on income and family size) and make every effort not to turn anyone away because of an inability to pay. Located on the edge of Lipscomb University’s campus, on-site parking is available. At the Lipscomb Family Therapy Center, we welcome everyone, regardless of religious or spiritual background, and we believe that seeking help shows strength and a personal commitment to becoming a healthier person. Allison Bassham, LMFT, LPC, EMDR II
Born and raised in Nashville, Allison still loves 90s country. You’ll rarely find her without a cup of coffee or a water bottle in hand, and she has an affection for chocolate. She headed west to Harding for college, graduating undergrad with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. From there, Allison went straight into grad school, graduating at the top of her class with a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and is now fully licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor. She also still likes to tease her husband for having a higher GPA in Graduate School since they went through the same Master’s program at Harding University. Allison has been practicing since 2014 and is trained in EMDR 1 and 2, utilizing this specialization often. She shows a unique combination of gentleness and tenacity of spirit that is infectious and rewarding for her client’s growth. Allison loves working with people who are openly facing any of life’s challenges and are ready to dig in and go deep. Her passions include: her two puppies- Blaise and Blue, reading, drawing, creating artwork, and hand written letters.
Clayton Bassham, MMFT, LPC, EMDR III, CSAT, CMAT, CTT
Born and raised in Texas, Clayton is still a firm believer that you can’t have a good barbecue without brisket. From age 2, baseball has been a passion of Clayton’s and he still loves to attend live games any chance he gets. He graduated from Harding with a Bachelor’s degree in Bible and Religion and went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. From there, Clayton served as a therapist and assistant director of Capstone Treatment Center for 7 years, where he was nicknamed Cuddly Clayton for his kindness and ability to make people feel comfortable. These attributes, in conjunction with his grit and determination, prove to be instrumental in the process of treatment for his clients. Clayton and Allison opened Ascend Counseling, PLLC in 2019 and have loved working with a variety of clients with varying needs. Clayton has a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy (MMFT), is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist (CMAT), Certified Trauma Therapist (CTT), and is trained in Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing, I, II, and III (EMDR I, II, III). Clayton might admit that his GPA was slightly less than his wife’s in Graduate School. Restore Tennessee Counseling
"My goal is to give hope. I seek to support couples as they overcome crises or as they strive to become more deeply connected in their intimacy. Pre-maritals are incredibly fun and insightful. I enjoy walking with couples as they get started and want to create a firm foundation. I also work with teen/adult individuals who want to overcome various life struggles. I believe that vulnerability is the root of our greatest strengths and am honored to be a part of that sacred process with my clients.
I see a myriad of different therapeutic concerns and struggles. The following are what I typically see:
Individual work: anxiety, mild depression, loneliness issues, attachment-based issues in relationships, boundary work, co-dependency work, emotional regulation, coping skills for anxiety or daily life stress, and faith/spiritual issues.
Couples work: pre-marital, marital crisis, attachment/connection issues, overcoming affairs, or relational health maintenance.

Chad Anderson, CPRC
Pornography has taken too many men captive. I was one of them, but I have found hope and healing. I want to help you find freedom from pornography so you can experience the fullness of an integrated life. I create a safe environment for you to share your story and experience God’s redemption in your own life through the gift of recovery. I will work with you to find the root causes of your addiction, so the healing process can begin. I will help you learn the truth of who you are, develop new patterns of thinking, and implement healthy skills that will allow you to walk in freedom, fully alive.
After walking my own path of recovery, I felt called to walk with other men and help them find freedom too. I am a trained and certified professional recovery coach who understands both the challenges and the rewards of walking the path of recovery.
You are not made to walk in guilt and shame. You are not made to walk alone. You are made to walk in freedom and in community. Your story is a beautiful narrative of the work of God in your life.

Adam Graham: LPC/MHSP
Adam is a licensed professional counselor/mental health service provider with experience in crisis care, suicidology, and the treatment of trauma and severe psychopathology. In counseling, Adam specializes in treating trauma, suicidality, depression, anxiety, and psychosis, working primarily with adults at the Melton Counseling Group.
Read a little more about Adam here:
Hi, I’m Adam! Over the past 15 years, I’ve had the privilege to serve those facing suicidal crises, trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and a world that can be somewhere between daunting and overwhelming. I have encountered the most brilliant and beautiful people and stories right in the middle of these storms – real meaning and relationship in the middle of real pain and chaos.
My professional and personal stories have shaped the values with which I approach counseling. From five years of visiting, helping, and talking with those wrestling with schizophrenia, I learned that we are not defined by the difficulties with which we wrestle, and that we all have a lot to learn from each other. From time spent serving in Scotland and India, I learned that cultural stories run deep, and when respected, can broaden perspective in beautiful ways. From three years in direct crisis counseling, group counseling, and individual therapy, I learned that every person is unique, is seeking love and meaning, and that people are incredible. Finally, from seven years in leadership, I learned that the wisdom of many is greater than the wisdom of one, that truth can win over power, and that right in the middle of the messes we find ourselves in, beautiful things can happen.
I get to share life with my wife of 15 years, our three kids, two dogs, and four cats in the woods on the outskirts of Nashville.
Rate and sliding scale:
Standard fee: $120/hour
Sliding scale: $60-$100/hour based on need
Melton Counseling Group does not bill insurance directly but can provide documentation to clients for them to submit to their insurance carrier for reimbursement.

Laura Prescott: LMFT
Hi! My name is Laura. I enjoy working with people who are looking for ways to feel their best, either as individuals or as couples. My focus each day is being a resource for hope, healing, and healthy relationships.
I’m excited to bring something new to the Ethos family: “Marriage Planning & More.” It’s a divinely inspired approach to couples counseling that helps couples learn how to have relationships that thrive. It begins with customized pre-engagement or pre-marital counseling, then offers ongoing coaching to help couples as they experience new challenges in their relationship. Coaching helps couples navigate transitions in their marriage & keep their bond strong as they enter the role of parenting. I approach couples counseling this way because I have a deep desire to help marriages succeed. When marriages thrive, it gives children a better opportunity to flourish. It’s wonderful to see couples grow closer together as they gain wisdom and learn important skills.
I also work with individuals who are looking for ways to feel better. My approach to individual counseling helps clients identify the obstacles that are limiting their joy, so they can begin to live in the freedom of emotional wellness.
