“At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, 'Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven?' He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.’”

Matthew 18: 1-5

About Ethos Kids

Our mission at Ethos Kids is to help children and families love God, love people and awaken a movement. We want to raise lovers and disciples of Christ. We believe that children are special and valuable to the kingdom of God. All children are spiritual beings, made in the image of God! In Mark 10:14 Jesus says, “Let the children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Scripture is full of references to the value of children in Jesus’ eyes and how children are a blessing from the Lord. We want to take great care of this blessing.

As a church, we feel called to provide space for children to experience spiritual transformation and encounters with our Creator. This environment is created through Bible stories, worship, games, and crafts all led by our volunteers.  Proverbs 22:6 says, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Our volunteers are invited to participate in the laying of a foundation for each of the children that enter the Ethos Kids space. Starting at a young age, we want to help families equip children with a solid foundation of faith that they will continue to grow upon for the rest of their lives.

Ethos Kids at Hillsboro Village

We believe that children are an integral part of the kingdom of God and we long to share our times of prayer, worship, teaching, and communion with them. Intergenerational ministry creates a unique environment that fosters discipleship and spiritual formation in a powerful way. By creating a space for children in the gathering, we believe we are living out the message of Matthew 19:14 when Jesus says, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Ethos Kids at Hillsboro Village meets at 9AM during the sermon part of our worship gathering. Children will stay with their parents during worship. During the teaching, our Kid’s Space will be open to all children ages 3 months to 4th grade. Children, 3 months to 2 years old, will be cared for by our trained volunteers. Children ages 3 through 4th grade will gather together for Bible Trek. An interactive, age-appropriate teaching with the goal of experiencing God’s love and presence as we trek together through the Bible chronologically.
