YES: School Supplies Needed
YES Back to School Supply Drive
We are partnering once again with Youth Encouragement Services for a Back to School Backpack and Supply Drive!
YES operates two youth centers that offer educational and recreational programs for kids ages 5-18 during after school hours and summer break. Programs effectively provide inner-city youth a safe place to go where they can engage in social, educational, recreational and cultural development in a Christ-centered environment.
YES' goal is to collect 150 backpacks filled with school supplies to give to the kids. If you would like to participate, please purchase one backpack and each of the supplies from this list. Fill the backpack with supplies and bring it to the Ethos Office anytime Monday through Wednesday of this week (7/18-7/20). In order to be able to accept a backpack, it must come filled with all the supplies from the list to make sure each child has what they need.
Click here for the list of items.
To drop off at the Ethos Office, follow these instructions:
- Our office is located at 2301 8th Ave S. Nashville, TN 37204. Pull in the main driveway and pull down the drive with the building on your right.
- You’ll come to a loading dock area where you can pull your car in. On the loading platform will be a bin marked “YES Donations” where you can place your backpack filled with supplies.
If you are unable to purchase all the items or to get to our office this week, you can also donate any amount to YES directly for the drive. Click here to visit their site, select “After School Program” under donation type, enter any amount, and type in “Back to School Supply Drive” in the notes.
You may enter any amount, however, $50 will purchase a backpack and supplies for one child, and $175 will purchase a back to school kit as well as support for the first month of after school care for one child. (Bible, Food, Tutoring Materials, Computer Equipment, Art & Crafts Supplies, Sports Equipment and Field Trips/Travel, Gas/Transportation, School Attire.)
YES continues to do amazing work changing the lives of children and families in some of the most vulnerable areas in our city. Let’s bless them by making sure the kids they serve have access to these basic needs in order to facilitate their learning in school and at YES this year.
