We will not be having the 5PM Worship Gathering or 7PM Prayer Gathering at the Cannery on Sunday, February 3. Instead, we hope you’ll take advantage of the opportunity the Super Bowl provides and invite people into your home! Or ask them to go with you wherever you are watching the game (or maybe just the commercials...) — instead of viewing Sunday night as not having church, view it as an opportunity to be the church.
Something that we learn from Jesus’ life is that many meaningful moments happened in people’s homes. People who didn’t know him came to him. People who were sick, were healed. People who didn’t know what God was like were taught about him. The home was an important place for Jesus to help people discover His love for them.
And the same is true for us as His followers. So on Super Bowl Sunday, invite your neighbors, your co-workers, and some friends over — and be praying for your time with them. If you get a chance to talk about the Lord, about who He is to you and what He’s done in your life, then share. If it’s a night of listening, asking questions, starting a friendship (or deepening one), and watching a game, then that's great, too!!
We hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity to love the people in your life and help them come to know God’s love.
