Resurrection Monday

Posted by Dave Clayton on

What an incredible day we had at Ethos Church yesterday as we celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. It was great seeing so many new people across all of our services, and the joy of worshipping a risen God saturated the entire day.

We had 4 Big Goals for our time together yesterday. Since we have 4 worship gatherings, it can be tough to get a grasp of the larger picture, so I want to give you a quick update.

OUR GOALS
START : 2 Churches & 1 School in India
FEED : 1.2 million people in Zambia
SHARE : Invite our friends, family, and co-workers to help us accomplish this
CELEBRATE : Gather to worship Jesus together on Sunday

HOW : Raise $30,000 in one Sunday to fully fund these efforts.

HOW THINGS WENT
START : 2 Churches and 1 School in India
Ethos India (2 locations in Basirhat and Gaborda) got off to a great start yesterday! Ethos Basirhat officially kicked off with a Good Friday service on Friday afternoon and gathered for Easter Sunday at 9:30 am. Ethos Gaborda held its first Easter Sunday Service at 4:00pm.

The school in Basirhat already has 50 kids registered to go, and will be starting in the weeks to come.

FEED : 1.2 Million Meals for Zambia
Well this was a huge goal, but thanks to your generosity we met this goal and more. We are currently in the process of seeing how many more meals we could provide with the extra funds. Isn't it amazing to think that we can do something in Nashville, TN that changes lives all across the country of Zambia!?!

SHARE : GET FRIENDS TO HELP
You guys did this in an extreme way. We had people from all over the country take part in the Awaken a Movement Initiative. As of yesterday, folks from 9 different states had participated in bringing healthy food to our friends in Zambia. This is all because YOU shared what God was doing, and asked your friends to help.

CELEBRATE : Gather to Celebrate Jesus
This is exactly what we did yesterday. It was wonderful to see people gathering all day long in the Cannery to worship Jesus the risen King, to take communion, to repent from sin, to take steps in their journey of faith, etc. It was abundantly clear that you invited your friends and family to join us for the celebration, as there were tons of new people that joined us for worship for the very first time yesterday.

FUNDS RAISED : Yesterday you gave more than $38,000 to feed the hungry, start new churches, and educate the next generation! What a great way to celebrate the empty tomb.

Thank you for stepping up to the challenge. You guys never cease to amaze me. It is such a blessing to be a part of this church family. There is no other church family that I'd rather serve. Love - Dave
