Ethos Share Gathering — Mental Illness

Posted by Ethos Church on

There are several Sundays where I don't feel anything. Sometimes it's a string of 10 Sundays. Sometimes I think on why I feel alone, sometimes I think it might be better if something bad happens. Sometimes I think it would be great if I could say all these things to someone else and see if they've ever felt the same.

Every month a group of us get together on a Tuesday night and we call it Share Gathering. Some folks talk, others just listen. We make new friends and share in those common experiences that no one likes to talk about. Sometimes it gets emotional, more often its just jokes and stories from real life. Folks in the room either suffer from, or love someone who suffers from Depression, Anxiety, OCD, Anorexia, Bulimia, Bipolar Disorder, Alcoholism, Addiction, or one of a dozen other sucky brain hurricanes. Some folks talk, some folks listen, some folks talk about God, some folks say swear words.

It's community, and we're inviting you into it.

Come join us in the basement of the Cannery at 6:30, every 3rd Tuesday. Our next meeting is 3/21 (tonight). I hope to see you there.
